Sharing of faithsChaplains/Advisors provide a valuable resource for students and staff. Chaplain/Advisers are drawn from faith communities which are members of the Scottish Interfaith Council and Christian churches which are in membership of Action Together of Churches in Scotland . The University is the first HEI to appoint a Humanist to the Chaplaincy team as an Advisor for people from a non faith background.

The University is a very popular wedding and civil partnership venue. The University Chapel and ceremonial rooms make a lovely setting. At least one of the couple in a wedding or civil partnership ceremony must be a Graduate (or son or daughter of a Graduate), member of staff or current student (or a son or daughter). The Weddings in the University button on the Chaplaincy website will take you to all our advice and information. There is a Weddings Organiser to make the Big Day go as smoothly as possible.

Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) is an Israeli-based international humanitarian project, whose mission is to improve the quality of pediatric cardiac care for children from developing countries who suffer from heart disease and to create centers of competence in these countries. SACH is totally dedicated to the idea that every child deserves the best medical treatment available, regardless of the child's nationality, religion, color, gender or financial situation.  SACH is motivated by the age-old Jewish tradition of Tikkun Olam – repairing the world. By mending the hearts of children, regardless of their origin, SACH is contributing to a better and more peaceful future for all of our children.

The SACH mission is achieved through Providing life-saving cardiac surgery and other life saving procedures for children from developing countries at the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, Israel;
Providing a full outreach training program for the medical personnel from these countries in Israel;
Leading surgical and teaching missions to partner countries in the developing world;
Holding pre-operative and follow-up cardiology clinics in Israel and abroad.

    We shall be offering a complete and continuous reading of St John’s Gospel – from the King James Bible - as part of the West End Festival this year. The reading will be given by staff and students from the University who are members of our Anglican/Episcopalian community.
    The reading will be for seven voices. If you would like to be a ‘voice’ or to help in any other way please contact Kevin Francis (anglicans@gla.ac.uk). You don’t need to be a ‘performer’ but it will help if you have some experience of public speaking! The reading will be for one night only and will take place in the University Chapel. We hope many will come simply to hear the majesty of the language of the Authorized Version – as well as to hear the Word of God.
