Deadlines for students to meet with the DS:

December exams

Friday 8 November 2013

April/May exams

Friday 7 March 2014

Any student requiring special arrangements in examinations in relation to an ongoing disability must inform the Disability Service and provide written evidence to support any requests.

If the disability is a temporary one e.g. a broken arm, the Clerk of Senate should be notified by the Head of School as soon as he or she becomes aware of the problem. All arrangements for students with temporary disabilities must be approved by the Clerk of Senate.

Visit the Disability Service website for more information about support for students with disabilities.

For information on exam venues and their accessibility please refer to the Timetables and Venues Tab.

An automated e-mail will be issued to your student e-mail account from MyCampus with your exam results as they become available. Results will also be published on MyCampus. Please note that members of staff are not allowed to give out results by telephone or email.

Important:

Please refrain from telephoning or emailing the Registry to check when your results will be published.

Enrolment Arrangements for Resit Examinations

Students who are eligible for resits must check their MyCampus student record to ensure the exams they are enrolled to resit are correct.

You are eligible to resit the exam for a course where you have received:
  • an overall course grade of less than D3 (undergraduate non-Honours) or C3 (PGT) at the first attempt
  • a medical or other adverse circumstances exemption grade of MV or a credit withheld grade of CW in the current academic session

Resits are not available on Honours courses except on a small number of degree programmes.  If you are an Honours student with MV grades your School/Institute will advise you of arrangements.

To check the exams you are enrolled to resit:
  • Log into your MyCampus Student Record
  • Go to Student Centre
  • From Student Centre click on Enrolment Link
  • Click on Enrol for Resits tab
  • The screen now displayed should be the Exams Enrolled to Resit screen
  • All of the exams you are enrolled to resit will be listed and displayed with a tick in the resit box.
Actions:
  1. Please check this screen thoroughly.  If there are any exams listed that you DO NOT want to resit, email the Registry Exams Team at reg.resit@glasgow.ac.uk with the exam name, code, your full name and student number by Friday 27th June to ensure you are removed from the exam list.
  2. In exceptional circumstances your School/Instiute may require you to resit an exam for a course where you have already received an overall course grade of D3 (undergraduate non-Honours) or C3 (PGT), or you may be advised to resit an exam taken in a previous academic session.  Your School will have advised you if the applies to you. If so, please contact reg.resit@glasgow.ac.uk with details of your name, student number, exam name and code by Friday 27th June to be added to the exam list and ensure you have a clash free exam timetable.
Overseas Enrolment

Overseas students are permitted to take resit exams in their home country if they are having difficulty returning to the University to sit their resit examination(s).

Students should send their request by email to reg.exams@glasgow.ac.uk and we will email you an application form to be completed and returned to us.  This details all of the information we require to process your request. All requests must be made by Friday 27th June 2014 in order for these arrangements to be made. We regret that we are unable to accept any such applications after this date.

Students must first look to take their exams at a British Council Office.  Registry will then proceed with confirming arrangements with the relevant British Council Office.  Exams will normally take place at the same time as they are being held in the UK or with an overlap. If this is not possible the School must approve the proposed time of the exam taking place abroad.

If there is no British Council Office in your home country or the British Council Office is unable to host the exam you should look for an alternative venue which should be notified to Registry who will then seek approval from the relevant School(s).  If approval is granted we will proceed with the arrangements.  The full name, address and email address of the person who is going to host and invigilate the examination(s) is required by Registry Exams Team.

All students sitting an exam overseas will be charged a fee of £50 per examination by the University. In addition, any charges made by the overseas examination centre will be payable by the student concerned.
