Glasgow Unique IDentifier (GUID)

Registration

GUID Registration service to register your GUID and obtain your password.

GUID services

Your GUID can give you access to the following services:

* An SSD and/or an Exchange account needs to have been created before you can use these services with your GUID. Contact your Local IT staff for advice

Changing your password for one of these services changes it for them all.

TIP: One way to create passwords that can be easily remembered is to base them on a song title or phrase. For example, the phrase: "This May Be One Way To Remember" could be used to create the password:
"TmB1w2R!?.

Passwords

Once you have received your password we recommend  you change it to something only you know (TIP -change it to the same password as your main log-in) AND set the challenge response questions for retrieving a forgotten password using Password self service. more about passwords

About your GUID and password

Your GUID (sometimes referred to as your username) originates from your entry in the Human Resources staff database and your password is known only to you. You can find your GUID and associated password by following our registration instructions.
Note: even if you already know your GUID you may need to register to access a GUID service.

Advantage

Your registered GUID (Glasgow Unique IDentifier) will reduce the number of user-ids and passwords you have to remember. We will gradually be adding other services and information about this will be communicated to users of the particular service before we add it.
In time your GUID and password should allow you to access most of the IT resources you will need.
