eduroam Wi-Fi setup
The eduroam auto setup and Get eduroam app install the security certificate required for your device.
When prompted to log in to connect to the eduroam network, use your UofG email address (@glasgow, @student or @research) and password.
Problems connecting?
Windows, iOS (iPhone, iPad), macOS and Linux
You will need:
1. A temporary internet connection (try flexaccess Wi-Fi if on campus, which lets you view UofG webpages only).
2. Click Start and follow the steps for your device.
3. Log in using your UofG email address and Password.
iOS and macOS: use the Safari browser for auto setup.
ChromeOS
You will need:
1. A temporary internet connection (try flexaccess Wi-Fi if on campus, which lets you view UofG webpages only).
2. Click Start to view the steps for Chrome OS. Note: If the Android device instructions are displayed, select Show all operating systems and choose ChromeOS. Then follow the steps to connect to eduroam.
3. Log in using your UofG email address and password.
Android
You will need:
1. A temporary internet connection (try UofGvisitor Wi-Fi on campus).
Install the Get eduroam app from the Google Play Store
2. Open the app and log in using your UofG email address and Password.
3. At the Save this network? prompt, select Save and Close app.
Note: You need to keep the app installed for eduroam to work.
Other UofG email addresses
If your UofG email address does not end with @glasgow.ac.uk, @student.gla.ac.uk or @research.gla.ac.uk, use this format instead:
- Email: YourGUID@jrs.glasgow.ac.uk (e.g., 123456x@jrs.glasgow.ac.uk)
- Password: your password
Once set up, you can use eduroam Wi-Fi at institutions around the world. If you intend to use it elsewhere, test it here at UofG first.
