Audio Visual-IT (AV-IT)

Audio Visual IT is part of IT Services.

The AV-IT team offers a wide range of technical services to support teaching, learning and research at the University of Glasgow.

Services

We provide advice and technical support services from the basic level of technology to the latest in digital technology.  These services are free of charge for University teaching, learning and research.  However, conference support may be chargeable.

Radio microphone changes

Audio PA Systems in Teaching spaces

right arrow Please note: All audio PA sytems installed in teaching spaces and centrally bookable areas are suitable for spoken voice reinforcement only and are not suitable for amplification of live music

VHS playback in Lecture theatres

right arrow Although no time frames are available, in the near future traditional VHS playback machines of sufficient quality will no longer be obtainable in the marketplace either as single stand-alone units or in combination with DVD playback machines. Therefore, when future installations take place within central teaching spaces we will no longer be able to provide a VHS playback machine service. Boyd Orr 1 lecture theatre has been upgraded this summer and no VHS playback equipment has been installed.
Transferring to DVD
If University academic/ teaching staff desire to have any existing teaching materials transferred from VHS to DVD this can be done in-house by the Media Unit who can also advise on copyright issues, in the Learning and Teaching Centre.
