International Women in Mathematics Day celebration

12th May has been designated as International Women in Maths day.  This date was chosen because it is the birthday of Maryam Mirzakahni, the first female Fields Medalist. 

To celebrate the contributions of women to the mathematical sciences, the School of Mathematics and Statistics held a lunch at the Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel 

It was a wonderful opportuinity for many of our female academics, PDRAs, PGRs and MPA staff to gather together to celebrate.
