Abstract

Given a dog walked using a leash with constant length, what is the orbit of the dog as the dog's master is walking along a straight line? The talk will explain this classical tractrix problem followed by other two advanced stories: how is the orbit of the dog if the master walks on the circle? how is the orbit of a dog which attacks a jogger?
