Abstract
I will discuss refined Donaldson-Thomas invariants of quivers with potentials. For a broad class of quivers with potentials DT invariants will be related to the invariants of preprojective algebras of quivers and to the polynomials counting absolutely indecomposable representations of quivers over finite fields. Some applications to the Kac conjecture will be derived.
