Abstract

Heegaard Floer homologies --- a family of invariants of closed 3-manifolds, introduced by P. Ozsvath and Z. Szabo around 2001 --- are defined using almost-complex geometry associated to Heegaard diagrams of the 3-manifold. In the talk (after a quick review of the original version of the theory) we show convenient Heegaard diagrams, for which the almost-holomorphic considerations are not necessary.
