My research aims to predict and improve the durability of heterogeneous materials, such as concrete, rock and soils by combinig analyses and experiments of physical processes on several scales. We are particularly interested in understanding how fracture interacts with mass transport and heat transfer and predicting its influence on durability of construction materials.
