- Music research at Glasgow comprises a network of scholars and practitioners who critically engage with music as a social, cultural, historical and political activity.
- We are an open-minded, forward-thinking, interdisciplinary and outward-facing community embracing some of the most innovative and rapidly expanding areas of music scholarship.
- All our staff seek to develop and maintain active research profiles which are enhanced by the constant exploration of overlaps, correspondences and commonalities between our individual research interests. Continual dialogue equips us with the tools to continuously challenge established categories and boundaries in the discipline, resulting in a range of collaborations both internally and externally.

We celebrate both our location within a UNESCO City of Music and the city’s musical heritage, without being constrained by such factors.
