  • Animal behaviour – recognition of kin, cooperation, helping in groups, personalities, mate choice and molecular techniques to assess relatedness
  • Animal physiology – muscle function, effects of hypoxia and water and salt balance
  • Invertebrates –general features, feeding and locomotion in molluscs and echinoderms, adaptations of cephalopods and protochordates
