About Arts Lab

Founded in October 2009 and launched officially in February 2010, Arts Lab is the research institute of the College of Arts at the University of Glasgow.

Its purpose is to support and encourage interdisciplinary research and collaboration within the College, and to promote productive research links with other Colleges. It also aims to promote collaboration beyond the University, particularly with the cultural sector in the City of Glasgow.

Arts Lab offers support to researchers through advice, training workshops, and laboratories for the exploration of common interests. It proposes to map individual research interests across the College, and to identify areas of shared engagement on which future collaborative research strengths might be built.
