The role of international organisations in the development of palliative care
We are investigating the role international organisations such as the World Health Organisation (WHO) have played in the history of palliative care.
The WHO Global Atlas of Palliative Care led to a World Health Assembly (WHA) declaration in 2014, WHA67.19, which called on all governments to engage in the delivery and integration of palliative care into their national health strategies.
What affect did this WHA declaration have, and with this in mind what part did the WHO play in the introduction of public health into palliative care discourse?
