Teams supporting engagement across the University
Engagement at the University is sponsored at Senior Management Group jointly by Christine Barr, Executive Director of People and Organisational Development, and Rachel Sandison, Vice Principal External Relations.
In addition to the vital engagement role carried out by leaders and managers, there are two bodies supporting the delivery of the strategic framework for engagement, the Colleague Engagement survey, and other engagement initiatives at UofG; the Colleague Engagement Leads Network and the Engagement Working Group.
Colleague Engagement Leads Network:
- Originally recruited in response to the 2014 biennial survey
- Meets 3 x year with a rotating chair
- Representative membership – colleagues from all units across the University
- Focus on employee voice
Engagement Working Group:
- Formed April 2020 to work on coordinating the University’s approach to engagement
- Meets 4 x year, chaired by Organisational Development
- Focus on strategic direction
If you would like to contact either of these groups, please email haveyoursay@glasgow.ac.uk
Colleague Engagement Leads
As part of the 2014 survey, each area of the University identified a Colleague Engagement Lead to support the dissemination and response to the survey results. Since this time Colleague Engagement Leads have performed a wide variety of vital work to support greater understanding of colleagues’ experiences and to improve working lives in their respective areas. Leads’ roles vary according to the needs of their area, but their core purpose is to give voice to their colleagues, and support their leaders to understand how their people are feeling, and how best to respond.
Each area of the University has an identified Colleague Engagement Lead who participates in a cross-institutional Colleague Engagement Leads Network.
- There is a Colleague Engagement Lead role description used by all Leads (although specific activities vary according to local needs).
- If you would like to ask who your local Colleague Engagement Lead is, please contact haveyoursay@glasgow.ac.uk
- If you are a Colleague Engagement Lead who would like to join the Teams page, please contact jessica.watson@glasgow.ac.uk
