Doors Open Day - 14 May 2024

We're excited to announce a Doors-Open-Day for all staff who contribute to teaching across the institution.

There'll be a relaxed atmosphere where you can browse the range of student-facing materials we produce, including significant online resources, with coffee and pastries available.

The informal setting will allow you to meet and chat with the SLD team, who will be on hand to showcase the innovative teaching strategies used across our suite of open classes, which any of your students are welcome to attend.

When?

  • Mid-morning to mid-afternoon on Tuesday, 14th May (see below for schedule)

Where?

  • Between the McMillan (Round) Reading Room and the Fraser Building next door

What?

  • A mix of information, taster sessions, and chances to discuss how the SLD advisers could work with you, your courses, and your students.

Who?

Our team, who will be on hand throughout the day, includes:

  • College-aligned:
    • four Effective Learning Advisers, each from a cognate disciplinary research background
  • Working across all subject areas:
    • two Effective Learning Advisers for International Students
    • our Maths Adviser
    • our Stats Adviser
    • our Peer Learning Facilitator
    • the University's central Inductions & Transitions Team
    • our Digital Learning Technologist
