The University's Procurement team, part of the Finance division, is celebrating a nomination as a finalist in the Team of the Year category of the Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards Scotland 2014/15.

GO 187 imageHead of Procurement, Jo Gallagher, said: "This is a fantastic recognition of progress and achievement for our procurement team, especially given the record level of competition from across the public sector in Scotland and the private sector in the UK, for these Awards.

"Who knows if we will go on to win the award next month, but even achieving finalist status is a great commendation for all involved."

The GO Awards Scotland 2014/15 will be held on 21 October 2014 at the Glasgow Marriott hotel.

For the past seven years the GO Awards Scotland have been the benchmark by which progress in this multibillion-pound sector has been measured.

Grahame Steed, Lead Judge, GO Awards Scotland 2014/15, said: “Once again the GO Awards Scotland have proved to be the leading showcase for recognising outstanding procurement within Scotland.

"From the far north of the country right down to the Borders and everywhere in between, this was our most diverse year yet for submissions. Achieving ‘finalist’ status in the GO Awards Scotland is now widely recognised as a great success for any organisation and I look forward to welcoming all those finalists at this year’s Awards ceremony. Well done!”
