The deadline for abstracts for the 2015 Learning and Teaching Conference is Friday 14 November. The Conference is open to all members of the University community with an interest in learning and teaching, and once again, to a number of external contributors and participants.

The online submission tool can be found on the Learning and Teaching Centre website at: http://learn.gla.ac.uk/abstracts/

The Conference will comprise a mixture of presentations (30 minutes) and interactive workshops (60 minutes). Staff are invited to submit abstracts (max 300 words) for presentations and workshops.

Selection will be based on the following criteria:

  • alignment with the title and themes of the Conference
  • breadth of interest to the University community
  • links to the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy [not for external contributions]

As with previous Conferences, successful abstracts will be published in the Proceedings booklet and online formats.

The Conference takes place on Tuesday 14 April 2015.

Next year's 8th annual gathering is entitled 'Learning and teaching in a changing environment'. The Conference will provide an opportunity to explore important challenges and opportunities arising from changes to the context in which learning and teaching is taking place.

The following themes will provide a focus for exploring how a changing environment can enhance the student learning experience:

  • Learning with technology
  • Assessment that is fit for purpose
  • Student diversity

Registration

Registration will open early in the new year, when the full programme will be announced. Full details will also be published on the website:

Professor Frank N. Coton, Vice-Principal (Learning and Teaching), said: "I look forward to colleagues' participation in what I am sure will prove to be another lively and engaging event."
