New edition of Horizons research magazine published

Why do we have to feel pain? How can you create a message that can’t be intercepted? What are the influences behind the behaviour of long-term gamblers? Horizons can help you to find the answers to these questions and more.

Showcasing innovative research at Glasgow, Horizons magazine is now available online. This edition includes a round up of research news as well as features on:

  • the science of suffering – new approaches to seeing, understanding and reducing pain
  • multidisciplinary research into ecosystem health being conducted at the award-winning Boyd Orr Centre
  • the use of quantum theory to create secure communications
  • the results of a five-year project studying the behavior of gamblers and how it changes over time.
