Plaudits for Charles Kennedy

The University of Glasgow's Rector for the last six years, the Right Honourable Charles Kennedy MP, has stood down on reaching the end of his term of office. Warm tributes were paid at a University reception.

The University hosted a reception on Friday 14 March in the Randolph Hall to thank Charles Kennedy, MP, for    his contribution as Rector over the last six years.

Charles Kennedy, the outgoing Rector said, “It has been a pleasure and a privilege to serve the students of the University of Glasgow for the past six years.  The post of Rector is an important one, and I would like to wish my successor all the very best for his term of office.” 

Charles was replaced in the role by Edward Snowden for the next three years, after a vote by the entire student body.
