The University's EU and International team ring in changes for the New Year. They play a key role in helping the University to strengthen its international partnerships.

The EU and International team plays a key role in helping the University of Glasgow strengthen its international partnerships in order to meet its strategic vision set out in ‘Glasgow 2020’.  The University of Glasgow has been very successful in increasing the number of awards received from the EU in recent years. In order to maintain this momentum, and take advantage of the launch of Horizon 2020 - Europe’s largest single Research funding pot (~€80 billion) - the European support function has been restructured.‌

T‌he new EU and International Research Support team brings together pre- and post-award support, bid writing and project management services and increased advisory capacity, to improve the information supplied to Academics, make the application and implementation processes less burdensome, and improve our funding success rates.

The EU and International team can provide the following services:EU Flag

  • Guidance on funding opportunities
  • Project planning and costing
  • Application development and technical bid writing
  • Contract negotiation
  • Project management
  • Financial reporting

The EU and International team sits within the Research Support Office and works with the Vice-Principal, Internationalisation, Jim Conroy.  The team was created from a merger between the pre-award EU team in Research and Enterprise (R&E) and the post-award EU team in Finance.  The members of the team are now located centrally in the main Gilbert Scott building, and work in close collaboration with Business Development support in each of the colleges.
