The latest in a series of talks at the Library is promising the low down on scandal and gossip from the University Archives.

Political intrigue, manoeuvres at midnight, or subterfuge? These and much more are being unearthed from the shadows of the University. "Scandal & Gossip from the University Archives" is the subject of the next Library Talk taking place on Tuesday 18th February at 7pm in the McKenna Room, Level 7.

Dr Jennifer Bann, a research associate in English Literature, is the speaker and is shining her forensic torch into treasures of the archives and the affairs of the University across the centuries.

Her research interests include legal prose in 18th century Scottish Universities, eighteenth-century medicine, the history of paediatrics and childcare, and the application of digital techniques to research in the medical humanities

The talk is one of the annual series of talks and events arranged by The Friends of Glasgow University Library  http://www.gla.ac.uk/services/library/collections/friends/ and is open to members and visitors. Annual Membership of the Friends starts at £15 and life membership is available. From donations and bequests the society helps the work and promotion of the Library and Archives.
