RIO to Kiev

Recruitment and International Office's Campbell Wilson has been promoting the University of Glasgow at conferences that took place recently in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.

The Recruitment and International Office's Campbell Wilson, International Officer, recently attended the annual Business Link UK Education Fair in Kiev, where he was asked to give an opening address to a related conference that was taking place on "Europeanisation" of business in Ukraine. Campbell was asked to speak at the opening of the conference on behalf of the education fair delegates. He was joined by the UK Ambassador to Ukraine, Simon Smith.

Last year a number of UK HEIs attended this event, however due to the situation in Ukraine only two institutions were represented this year - the University of Glasgow and Coventry University.

For the first time, Business Link also ran a special conference this year alongside the education fair, under the theme “European Education for the New Ukraine”. Those taking part in the discussion included the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Cambridge University graduates, and those business representatives who received their higher education abroad. The conference attracted a lot of media and public attention, and was a great success.
