The on-street parking charges in Hillhead, levied by Glasgow City Council, are set to change from next month.

The on-street parking charges levied by Glasgow City Council are set to change from next month. The date set is Friday 12 September.

The changes are likely to impact some University staff who park in the vicinity of the main Gilmorehill campus.  In some areas, the hourly parking charges will be increasing while the duration permitted for each stay will be reduced by an hour. You can find the full information on the Council's own web pages: www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=11194

When contacted by Campus eNews Jamie Rodden, Group Manager - Traffic and Road Safety Land and Environmental Services, said: "The new pay & display tariff will be Monday - Sunday, 8am – 10pm, 20p for first 30 minutes and 20p for 10 minutes thereafter (max stay 3 hours).

"University Gardens, University Place and Lilybank Gardens are all public roads and University parking permit are not valid on these streets.  University Avenue and Kelvin Way are not part of the proposed changes to Hillhead."

The Lilybank off-street car park is not part of these council changes. According to Jamie Rodden, University staff and students are not entitled to resident visitor permits unless they are a resident in the Hillhead area.
