Last week's Scotland China Business Breakfast offered a great opportunity to showcase the work and knowledge within the university focused on the Chinese market.

The Scotland China Business Breakfast took place last Thursday at the Sir Charles Wilson Building writes Matthew Heap.

Partnering with the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (www.scdi.org.uk) and led by the Careers Service, this networking event brought members of SCDI on campus to discuss “Doing business with China”.

With a welcome address from the Principal and presentations from a university academic, a current PhD researcher and two MBA students, it provided a great opportunity to showcase the work and knowledge within the university about the Chinese market.  In particular it highlighted the options for local business to recruit Chinese students as interns through the Career Service's Club 21 Internship Programme.

Seventy five attendees from a wide range of local, national and multinational businesses, including university staff and students, enjoyed a lively morning event covering the Chinese economy, building relationships and networking in China and Chinese social media. The Confucius Institute, Adam Smith Business School and the Careers Service also exhibited at the event.
