The University is proud to welcome Professor Jean-Luc Marion from the University of Chicago to deliver the 2014 Gifford Lecture Series

The University of Glasgow is proud to welcome Professor Jean-Luc Marion from the University of Chicago to deliver the 2014 Gifford Lecture Series: 'Givenness and Revelation'

Professor Marion is an eminent postmodern philosopher, who is both a formidable authority on Descartes and a major scholar in the philosophy of religion.

  • Tuesday 20 May - The aporia of revelation: the epistemological interpretation
  • Wednesday 21 May - Understanding revelation: a phenomenological reappropriation
  • Tuesday 27 May - Christ as saturated phenomenon: the Icon of the invisible
  • Wednesday 28 May - Trinity as a logic of manifestation

All lectures will be held in the Graham Kerr Lecture Theatre (Corner of the South Front and Science Way).  Doors open 5.30pm, lecture starts 6pm.

Drinks reception to follow the final lecture on Wednesday 28 May. Lectures are free and open to the public but pre-registration is essential.
