The U21 Early Career Researcher Workshop is being held on Monday 12 May 2014 from 3pm to 5pm in the Alwyn Williams building, Level 5. This is your chance to find out more about international collaboration and networking.

The U21 Early Career Researcher Workshop is being held on Monday 12 May 2014 from 3pm to 5pm in the Alwyn Williams building, Level 5.  This is your chance to find out more about international collaboration and networking.

The workshop will be led by Gemma Marakas, the U21 Researcher Development Manager.

U21 is an international network of 27 research-intensive universities across 5 continents. A key area of work for the network is the development of Early Career Researchers across our institutions. For more information on the network, visit www.universitas21.com  

Workshop details

The workshop will be led by Gemma Marakas, Researcher Development Manager for U21. Gemma is an experienced presenter to ECRs on developing international collaboration, across the U21 network. Her presentation will cover the following areas:

  • Challenges/barriers faced by Early Careers Researchers
  • Why collaborate with international partners?
  • Funding joint research & mobility
  • Research Visits
  • Conferences
  • Maintaining healthy communications: includes input from an experienced academic on building a profile and dealing with challenges around positive communications.
