Provenance: William Hunter (1718-1783), physician and anatomist:  source unknown.
University of Glasgow:  Hunterian bequest 1807;  Hunterian Museum bookplate and book label on front pastedown, with former shelfmark “Y.6.16”.
Binding: 18th-century gold-tooled parchment, covers decorated with a floral roll border, a floral ornament at each inner corner;  gold-tooled spine;  edges of leaves marbled in red, green and blue;  front and rear free endpapers have a fleur-de-lys watermark within an oval frame.   Size:  368 x 270 mm.
Leaf size: 360 x 257 mm.
Annotations: Very occasional brief marginal annotations in a 16th-century hand;  very occasional “nota” marks.
Decoration: None.
Imperfections: Wanting 33/11 (f. 303) containing the Registrum, and the final blank leaf;  lower margin of 1/2 excised - probably to remove evidence of ownership - and made good at a later date with a blank strip of paper.
