Provenance: Limay, near Mantes, Île-de-France, Celestines, S. Trinitas, founded 1376:  on A2r “Iste liber est celestinor[um] prope medu[n]ta[m].  Sic sig[na]tus 64”;  on 7/10v “Iste liber est celestinor[um] s[an]cte trinitatis prope meduntam hunc dederu[n]t fratrj hugonj natalis parentes sui”.

William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  purchased from Arthur 18 Dec. 1868 according to Euing’s pencil acquisition note and price code “18 12 68 Arthur ba/-” on A2r together with his inventory number “No 3904” and a superseded inventory number “121”;  source confirmed in Euing’s acquisitions inventory (University of Glasgow Library, MS Euing 49).

Binding: Scotland, 19th century blind-tooled panelled calf over bevelled boards;  gilt spine title;  marbled endpapers;  red-edged leaves;  early parchment index tabs retained;  thin parchment guards with French text occasionally visible e.g. between k4 and k5, l4 and l5, p4 and p5;  binder’s stamp “Bound by R. Nelson” on verso of front free endpaper.   Size:  225 x 153 mm.
Leaf size: 217 x 140 mm.
Annotations: Occasional marginal annotations in a 16th-century hand;  foliated in an early hand “1”-“80” from v2 to 7/9 (this foliation occasionally referred to in the Tabula on 7/10v).
Decoration: Six-line initial “F” on a1r and six-line initial “P” on v7r supplied in red and blue with reserved white;  other initials supplied throughout in red or blue;  occasional paragraph marks in red or blue;  marginal floral decoration sketched in pencil on outer and lower margin of a6r. 
Imperfections: Wanting the blank leaf A1.
