Binding: 17th-century blind-tooled calf over wooden boards;  covers decorated with intersecting double fillets to form a panel within an undecorated frame, the panel divided by a double fillet from corner to corner into four triangles;  evidence from nail holes of two now lost fore-edge clasps;  rebacked in 19th/20th century and given new pastedowns and endpapers (originals unrecorded);  gilt stamp ‘Glasgow College Library’ on spine;  lengthy two-line inscription on blackened fore-edge (unread).   Size: 439 × 285 mm.
Leaf size: 427 x 284 mm.
Annotations: Occasional marginal annotations in a 16th-century hand;  very occasional manicules and underlining;  frequent highlighting of text in light ink wash;  faint ownership(?) inscription in top margin of π2r (unread under ultraviolet light);  19th/20th-century numbers in pencil “93/2” on π2r and “164/15” and π2v are probably binders’ job numbers.
Decoration: None.
Imperfections: Wanting the blank leaves π1 of part I and Z10 of part II;  leaves X9 and Z9 of part II mutilated with loss of text.
