Leaf size: 295 x 207 mm.
Annotations: Frequent marginal annotations in 16th-century hands, mainly extracting keywords;  occasional underlining in red or in brown ink;  occasional manicules in red ink;  (lot?) number “363” in red crayon in an 18th-century hand on 1/1r and repeated on lower edge of text block;  “f2” in pencil in an 18th-century hand on front pastedown.
Decoration: On 1/4r an eight-line initial “Q”, set on a dark and light purple square ground, is supplied in dark blue with light blue foliate decoration which extends into the inner margin, the body of the initial filled in with dark and light green foliate decoration;  lower margin of 1/4r has foliate decoration in the same colours;  other principal initials supplied in a similar style;  many other initials supplied in red or in red and reserved white;  frequent guide-letters in red;  capital strokes and paragraph marks in red throughout.
Imperfections: Wanting leaves CXCVII and CXCVIII (25/4.5) and CCXXV (28/10);  front free endpaper excised.
