William Hunter (1718-1783), physician and anatomist:  purchased by Hunter at the Askew sale for £11.0.0 according to the  partially annotated copy of the Askew sale catalogue in University of Glasgow Library (shelfmark Mu36-c.8).
University of Glasgow:  Hunterian bequest 1807;  Hunterian Museum bookplate on front pastedown, with former shelfmark “Be.8.26”.
Binding: 18th-century gold-tooled red goatskin;  covers have a double-fillet frame with an ornamental tool added at each inner corner;  each cover has a lozenge-shaped centre-piece made-up from the same tool, which is also used to decorate the spine compartments;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves;  flyleaves have arms of Amsterdam watermark.   Size:  205 x 142 mm.

Annotations: Brief early marginal annotation in Greek on Γ2r;  18th-century code in ink on verso of front free endpaper “Blnb/n”(?).
