Note:	The two parts bound separately.  Printer’s pin-holes visible in both.  Part I: stubs visible between 25/9 and 25/10, 31/2 and 32/3.  Part II: stubs visible between 16/3 and 16/4, 17/5 and 17/6, 17/7 and 17/8.  The precise position of the extra leaf in quire 28 is difficult to determine since the sewing is extremely tight and there is no evidence of a stub.

Binding:	France, 18th-century red goatskin;  covers decorated with a triple gold-fillet border, a small gold fleuron at each corner;  gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves;  green silk bookmarks;  binder’s ticket on verso of front free endpaper of Part 1 “Relié par Derome le Jeune, rue St. Jacques au dessus de St. Benoît, seul possédent l’Etablissem[en]t de Déffunt son Pere” followed by manuscript date “1763”.   Size:  415 x 287 mm.

Annotations:	Early signatures (some scored through and revised, many cropped) in both parts;  a few guide-letters in both parts.  Part I has various 18th-century(?) numbers on 3/1r (f. 13r) ‘36’ (scored through), ‘35’, ‘97’, ‘99’ and (under ultraviolet lamp) ‘xiij’;  pencil note by Dibdin on front free endpaper ‘This is perhaps the finest copy of this rare edition of the Sacred Text, in the Italian language, in existence ... T.F. Dibdin Aug. 31 1836’.  Part II has number ‘46’ (18th-century?) on 2/1r (f. 3r);  an annotation in an 18th-century hand on 1/1r (partially legible under ultraviolet lamp) ‘46’ and ‘2 partie de la Bible en Italien [...]’
