Catalogue of the ... library of ... the late Duke of Sussex. Part I (1844);  sold for £1.18.0 according to the annotated copy of the sale catalogue in University of Glasgow Library (shelfmark BD17-e.15).

William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  purchased from Ellis & Elvey 7 Nov. 1865 according to Euing’s acquisitions inventory (MS Euing 49, item 2318);  pasted onto front pastedown is an extract (item 30, price details excluded) from a bookseller’s catalogue (Ellis & Elvey?) advertising this copy.
University of Glasgow:  presented by Euing in 1872 according to one of two University Library bookplates on front pastedown.
Binding: Scotland, 20th-century pigskin over millboards;  rebound by Ian Maver (restoration binder, Special Collections Department, University of Glasgow Library) Dec. 1985, replacing a dilapidated 19th-century half calf binding with marbled paper sides;  binder’s restoration note tipped onto rear pastedown;  sample of original binding, original flyleaves and pastedowns not preserved;  housed in a dark blue buckram-covered box.   Size:  412 x 285 mm.
Leaf size: 402 x 277 mm.
Annotations: Single marginal correction in an early hand on 24/9r (f. 233r).
Decoration: Woodcut half-border on 1/1r and woodcut initials throughout decorated in red;  printed paragraph marks stroked in red;  capital strokes and underlining in red throughout.
