William Hunter (1718-1783), physician and anatomist:  purchased by Hunter at the Smith sale for £0.10.6 according to the annotated British Library copy of the Smith sale catalogue - shelfmark S.C.S. 8(7).
University of Glasgow:  Hunterian bequest 1807;  Hunterian Museum bookplate on front pastedown, with former shelfmark “Be.8.31”.
Binding: 18th-century mottled calf;  gold-tooled spine;  red-edged leaves.  Size:  209 x 145 mm.
Leaf size: 202 x 139 mm.
Annotations: Occasional early marginal annotations in red ink, manicules, nota marks;  brief early marginal annotations on h1r in a different hand in faded brown ink.
Decoration: Four-line initial “A” on a2r supplied in blue (much faded);  other initials, capital strokes and paragraph marks supplied in red throughout.
Imperfections: Wanting the blank leaves a1 and m12.
