| Binding: | France, 17th-century tan-coloured calf; both covers decorated with a double gold fillet to form a mitred panel design; within the centre panel of each cover is the gilt monogram of Nicolas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc, formed by the three Greek letters kappa, phi, pi. Rebacked and restored by Ian Maver, Nov. 1982; original endpapers put back; original leather spine lost; parchment manuscript fragments from a liturgical manuscript, used as spine strengtheners, are preserved and loosely inserted in the book; typescript note by binder tipped in at rear. Housed in modern brown cloth slip-case. Size: 215 x 160 mm. |
