Binding: France, 18th-century red goatskin decorated with triple gold fillets, a small gold fleuron at each corner; gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves;  blue silk bookmark.   Size: 194 x 131 mm.
Leaf size: 188 x 126 mm.
Annotations: Quires numbered "1"-"4" in an early hand.  Note by T. F. Dibdin (1776-1847) on front flyleaf:  "This edition is unknown to me ... see B.S. vol. 1 184".
Decoration: Initials supplied in red throughout (with occasional pen-flourishing), one initial supplied in black;  paragraph marks supplied in red throughout and capital strokes in faded yellow.
