Binding: Germany, 19th-century calf, both covers decorated with a border of double fillets in blind;  gold-tooled spine title;  binder’s waste exposed at damaged head of spine shows printed text in German;  grey endpapers;  speckled red-edged leaves.   Size:  197 x 150 mm.

Annotations: Occasional marginal annotations in a 16th-century hand;  occasional manicules and “nota” marks;  annotation on e5v “ex neapolj” (presumably referring to the author’s birthplace near Naples - author is described as 'Neapolis Regni' in the title) - repeated but cropped on a1r;  on a1r 19th-century pencil numbers “3” and “508[-]” (latter cropped by binder);  19th-century price code in pencil “do/-” on a1v.
