Staff Monitoring
The University is required to provide the Higher Education Statistical Agency (HESA) with an annual statistical profile of our staff - an anonymised return, this is the main source for the league tables, and the diversity measures across Higher Education in the UK.
Staff equalities data is gathered from information held within Human Resources systems. Information held on each staff member can be checked and amended by the staff member through the My CorePersonnel section of the HR/Payroll System.
All information provided is treated in strict confidence and held in accordance with relevant Data Protection legislation.
The University also uses equalities data to produce the Staff Equality Monitoring Report which allows the University to have a standard base for all equality information across the organisation. The report will assist the further development of the Equality and Diversity Strategy, and ongoing work towards the equality outcomes for the Public Sector Equality Duty.
The aim of the report is to provide transparent data for all functions in the institution to use when equality information is required, such as when conducting Equality Impact Assessments. All information is anonymous and no individual can be recognised.
