In this exhibition, on the 200th anniversary of his birth, the University of Glasgow is exploring the influences on and the legacy of David Livingstone.

Livingstone studied Greek at the University of Glasgow in 1836-7. He went on to become a medical doctor and a missionary explorer in Africa, leading three expeditions between1840 and his death in 1873. He was conferred an honorary doctorate from the University in 1854, accepting it in person on 25 February 1858.
