Glasgow is home to a strong community of world-class academic researchers, who are constantly pushing the boundaries of technical possibility and human understanding, and some of the UK’s best and most innovative entrepreneurs. The Gaitherin is a new place for Glasgow’s forward thinkers to come together, in the inspiring surroundings of the new centre of innovation, Tontine, for free breakfast briefings focused on research, development and innovation – the engines of our city’s vitality and growth.
With headline discussions on topical business issues with experts from Glasgow’s Business Schools and beyond, each briefing will also include the opportunity for all attendees to make short elevator pitches to the audience. These four minute, quick-fire slots are designed for businesses to promote their new product or service, for researchers to present their latest results and for the whole innovation community to access peer support for their most pressing business and research challenges.
For our inaugural event, we will be joined by Professor Neil Rollings from the University of Glasgow, an expert on business regulation, to talk Brexit. For if Brexit means Brexit, what might Brexit actually mean for business in Glasgow? We look forward to Neil’s insightful comments and to your contributions to the discussion.
So if you are doing business in Glasgow, make sure we see you at the Gaitherin, the place to meet Glasgow’s deep thinkers, her geeks, her innovators, her horizon scanners, and entrepreneurs.
