Two essays (each 1500 words): 40% each

One source analysis (500 words): 20% 

Course Aims

To introduce students to the discipline of Theology and Religious Studies and to enable them to develop academic literacies necessary for Level 1 undergraduate study in the College of Arts.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students should be able to:

■ Identify key themes in Theology and Religious Studies and discuss them in their appropriate academic context with reference to current theory and practice.

■ Analyse primary and secondary source materials and cite them appropriately

■ Communicate Theology and Religious Studies theories and concepts in a logical and effective manner, correctly using key terminology of this field of study, as required for University Level 1 courses.

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
