At home with social science: University of Glasgow visits IKEA
This event took place in Glasgow on 4 November 2017.
Social scientists from the University of Glasgow joined the showroom strollers, meatball lovers, marketplace meanderers and bargain corner combers, to inject a dose of social science into a busy Saturday at Glasgow's IKEA.
There was something for everyone in true IKEA style: research-themed activities for young social scientists; an IKEA café takeover, with table-based games, quizzes and interactive exhibits; and researchers dotted around the store. Think sustainable food researchers in the kitchens, and sociologists of dirt in the bathrooms.
We showcased all of the amazing social science research that is going on right here in the city.
