Communicating Sustainability

Call for Colloquia for conference on Communicating Sustainability

We will be holding a two-day conference on the theme of Communicating Sustainability on the 6th and 7th September 2022.  The even will be held simultaneously across four international hubs, with a mixture of on-site events at each hub and virtual events between hubs.

The conference will bring together academics, professionals and civil society to discuss: (i) how sustainability is and could be communicated within their area of interest; and (ii) ways forward in communicating sustainability between sectors.

At this stage we are calling for proposals to present themed colloquia focusing on how social and environmental aspects of sustainability are represented and negotiated within specific sectors, disciplines, industries, media or genres.

There are no restrictions on what themes will be considered – sustainability in the arts, the natural sciences, the community, textbooks, children’s television, politics, poetry, the press or social media, are all possible examples - and we encourage presenters from both inside and outside academia.

To submit a proposal for a colloquium, please provide a title and a 150-300 word general abstract along with a minimum of three abstracts for individual presentations or, in the case of roundtable events, the details of at least three speakers (300-500 words in each case).

Your proposals should be sent to the local organiser at the hub where you wish to take part in the event.
