The half-day symposium will highlight their work to improve the lives of victims of conflict
The University of Glasgow and University College London (UCL) are to hold a joint online half-day symposium on Wednesday 7 October, to showcase their work in support of the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation.
The Foundation aims to rebuild peace in communities affected by conflict and crisis, by addressing the underlying economic, social, environmental and cultural impact of war.
Although working on separate projects, the Universities have the shared goal of improving the lives of victims of conflict, which will be showcased in the ‘Mind & Body Healing Symposium’.
The UofG project focusses on the body, looking at technology allowing the growth of large pieces of bone to aid the treatment of blast injuries, whilst the UCL work focusses on the mind, exploring treatments for traumatic stress, addiction, and anxiety disorders.
You can find out more and book free tickets on the Symposium eventbrite page; a small donation to either project is suggested for attendees.
