Electronic deposit of PhD and other theses
Key information: A new requirement for the electronic deposit of doctoral theses. There was no provision formerly for electronic deposit and two bound copies were required.
For whom: Research students and supervisors, Heads of Graduate Schools, Deans and Faculty Secretaries.
Summary: Senate approved the proposal from the Research Planning and Strategy Committee that the regulations governing the deposit of PhD and other doctoral theses should be amended so that one hard copy only, and one electronic copy, should be deposited in the University Library.
The Library has consequently withdrawn the revised Thesis Access Declaration form it had sent to Higher Degrees Committees for comment. A new form incorporating electronic deposit has been developed and approved by Senate.
