The Research Support Office (RSO) provides cradle to grave support for research grants, contracts and European research projects. This includes support to researchers, colleges and administrators in the search for funding opportunities, the preparation, costing and submission of applications that comply with funder terms and university policy, the processing of awards, and post award financial administration through to completion. RSO is also involved in the development and implementation of University research policy, procedures and systems, liaising with, and influencing funders and other stakeholders, and benchmarking and developing best-practice in the sector through involvement in appropriate forums at national and international level.

The Grants Team

The Grants Team in the Research Support Office (RSO) provides support for colleagues applying for research grants, including researchers, colleges and administrators both in the search for funding opportunities, and in the preparation, costing and submission of applications that comply with funder terms and university policy. The Grants Team is also involved in assisting the development and implementation of University research policy, procedures and systems, and liaising with, and influencing research funders, as well as benchmarking and developing best-practice in the sector through involvement in appropriate forums at national and international level.

The Contracts Team

The Contracts team provide cradle to grave support and specialist advice on various types of contracts. The team can prepare, review, negotiate and authorise all University contracts, whilst also providing guidance on research policy and compliance.

The EU Team

The EU and International team provides support throughout the lifecycle of a European funded research project, from finding a potential funding opportunity to finalising reporting on  a completed project, with the potential for bid writing and project management support along the way.

The main source of EU funding is Horizon 2020, but the EU team will also guide you through a myriad of other potential opportunities. The Post Award Team

The Awards Team
The Research Support Office, Awards Team is responsible for the efficient awarding of externally funded grant awards on the Research System and the creation of all finance projects and budgets on Agresso. 

The Post Award Administration Team
The post award team are responsible for the financial administration of externally funded grant awards and contracts across a variety of external funders.We also provide post award support and advice on funder terms and conditions and action project queries recvd from internal and external customers.
