EMRS DTC Call For Research Proposals 2007

The EMRS DTC will be opening its Annual Call for research proposals, open from Monday 8th October 2007 and closing on Friday 28th December 2007 for projects starting in April 2008.

The call is open to Universities, SMEs, Research Centres and Large Companies with relevant, low Technology Readiness Level (TRL) research capability in Electro-Magnetic Remote Sensing and it's enabling technologies.

Participating organisations gain full funding by the DTC for their research, while retaining ownership of their IPR. The sponsors of the DTC, UK MoD, gain rights of use for internal UK government purposes. The EMRS DTC consortium companies gain rights of use only for EMRS DTC purposes. This mechanism leaves science providers free to exploit their research in both military and civil domains. The framework has been created in this manner to attract the best researchers and most innovative ideas towards UK defence research.

The call for proposals will be supported by two Bidders' Conferences:

Monday 8th Oct 2007 - BAE Systems Farnborough, and Wednesday 10th October 2007 - Selex Sensors & Airborne Systems, Edinburgh

Each of these Bidders' Conferences will start at 9:30am, and will conclude at 1:00pm. It is necessary to register for these Bidders' Conferences.

Scottish Universities Physics Alliance KT Showcase Event

27 February 2008
Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Glasgow , UK.

With multi-£M support from the government and its host universities, the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance, SUPA, has brought together over 1000 physicists in a single research organisation. SUPA now encompasses all physics research in Scotland , with the quality and scale of resources to match those of the most notable universities worldwide.
