Records and Information Management Service [R&IMS]
Introduction
Records and information management processes help you and the University get best value from its information resources. Following our guidelines ensures that you can:
- Create reliable records: so the University has the information that is needed to provide accurate evidence of activities or transactions that have taken place
- Locate records: information can be found and accessed, and the current version is identified clearly where multiple versions exist
- Understand records: who created the document and when, during which business process, and how the record is related to other records
- Maintain records for an appropriate time: so that information is managed and accessible for as long as is needed despite changes of format.
The appropriate management of information is essential for efficient administration, effective corporate governance as well as to comply with external compliance requirements.
