Call open for ESRC Doctoral Training Centre Scholarships 2012/13
Welcome to CRCEES
Established in 2006, the Centre for Russian, Central and East European Studies (CRCEES) is an inter-university Centre of Excellence. CRCEES is funded by the UK’s Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
CRCEES supports activities which demonstrate the impact and strategic importance of research in language based area studies, particularly in terms of building capacity and supporting knowledge exchange in the non-academic sector.
Specifically, CRCEES provides funding to support activities which:
- develop and sustain partnerships for knowledge exchange with relevant business and public policy organisations, (for example: through short-term placements or through other forms of partnership working)
- develop and sustain research networks and exchanges with academics in the UK and other countries
- develop networks to support specialist language subject areas.
We are also part of the ESRC Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) within the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science which is a unique collaboration between universities in Scotland to make available outstanding research training to doctoral students in the social sciences.
